The mountain nyala is a medium sized antelope similar in size and appearance to the better known kudu. Their horns have the same twisted spiral shape as the kudu, however they tend to be slightly smaller, measuring up to 24 inches long. In sound, a nyala shofar is very similar to the kudu one, though their smaller size will produce a higher pitch. Unlike most mass produced shofarot, we here at Exoticshofars don't remove the outer layer of our horns, leaving the natural grain of the horn shine through. As a result, our nyala horn shofarort look quite different to most kudu horn shofarot for sale, retaining the natural beauty of the horn rather than having a glossy mirror polish.

Our Shofarot are hand made in small quantities and finished with a natural vegetable oil coating. We take care to boil our horns before production to ensure they are fully sterile and take every precaution to make sure they are 100% kosher.

Our signature natural finish retains the beauty of the horn while keeping it still somewhat smooth to the touch. Unlike other, mirror polished shofarot, you can see the grain, the imperfections, the ridges and valleys on every one of our shofarot.
